DENTON - Wide Receiver Carlos Harris was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after his sensational performance on Saturday against Southern Miss.
Harris had the single-best receiving day for any Conference USA player this season, catching 15 passes for 216 yards against Southern Miss. It was the highest reception total by a North Texas player since Casey Fitzgerald had 18 in 2007.
He had the fourth-highest number of receptions for any receiver in FBS this season and the eighth-highest total in the FBS for receiving yards in 2014. It was the third-most receptions in school history.
Harris is only the second player since 1992 with over 200-yards receiving in a game for NT. He leads C-USA in receiving yards per game and is second in all-purpose yards. He is ninth in the nation in all-purpose yards per game.
North Texas returns to the field this Saturday as they travel to Rice looking for their first C-USA win of the season.
