- Since falling in an upset to Charlotte at home on October 17, North Texas has rattled off six consecutive wins, the second longest streak of 2014. The Mean Green won seven straight matches in the first month of the season.
- North Texas, sitting at fourth in the current standings, has booked its ticket to the Conference USA Tournament for the second straight year. This is the Mean Green's second year of play in C-USA, both of which with Andrew Palileo at the helm.
- The Mean Green is rolling after its 3-0 upset of Rice on the road on Friday night in Houston. This marks the second straight year North Texas has knocked off Rice at Tudor Fieldhouse, winning by a score of 3-1 back in 2013, after not having beaten the Owls since 1997.
- Defending Conference USA player of the week, Junior outside hitter Carnae Dillard, recorded 23 kills on Friday night against Rice. Dillard will be looking for another strong performance today to put her in contention to win the weekly award in back-to-back weeks for the second time this season.
- TCU holds a 8-1 advantage in the all-time series with North Texas with the lone Mean Green win coming back in 2002. North Texas is 0-1 against Big 12 schools, and 0-3 against power conference schools this season.
- North Texas needs to win two of its last three matches this year to secure its 6th 20+ win season in program history. It would be the first since the Mean Green won 26 games in 2012, the last year of Sun Belt play.
