Rosenmueller Takes Second Place At Windon Classic

GLENCOE, Ill - The youngsters continue to shine early in the season for the North Texas men's golf team as freshman Thomas Rosenmueller took home a second-place finish at the Windon Memorial Classic.
Rosenmueller shot a steady final round of even-par 71, and was 4-under for the tournament to finish two shots behind the individual champion. Rosenmueller's second-place finish is the best by a freshman since 2010 when Rodolfo Cazaubon finished in second-place.
For the tournament, the freshman had eight birdies only four bogeys in 54 holes of play. Fellow freshman Ian Snyman carded red figures in the final round with 3-under 68.
Snyman's round was tied for the third-lowest of the day. He moved up to finish in a tie for 14th place. He was nearly flawless on the day with four birdies and only one bogey.
Both Rosenmueller and Snyman have top-20 finish as freshman in their first two events.
Michael Cotton finished tied for 44th place after his best day of the tournament at 1-over par 72. Ross Martens shot a 77 while Cory Churchman closed with a 2-over par 73.
The Mean Green as a team was unable to break out of the eighth place tie they started in and ended up tied with Southeastern Louisiana after a final round of even-par 284. Purdue ran away from the field to win by 15 shots.
North Texas is back in action Oct. 12-13 at the Bayou City Classic.
