Mean Green Finish In Fourth At UTSA/Oak Hills Invite

SAN ANTONIO - A strong third-round powered the North Texas men's golf team up the leaderboard while freshman Ian Snyman notched a career-best finish at the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational. NT shot a final round score of 291 to inch their way into the top-five as they finished in fourth place.
Snyman shot a final round of 2-over par and finished alone in third place, the best finish of the freshman's career. It is the third top-15 finish of his career and second top-5 finish. He played as an individual for the Mean Green.
The Mean Green as a team slipped past McNeese State by one stroke and the host UTSA by two shots.
No. 44 Baylor overtook No. 11 Oklahoma to capture the team title by five shots. Louisiana Tech finished in third place.
Junior Alejandro Villasana had a season-best round as he was 1-under on the day. Villasana had four birdies on the day and moved into a tie for 10th place. It is the second-best finish of his career.
Cory Churchman shot a 3-over par74 on the day to finish tied for 27th place. Colin Pearson was 1-over with his best score of the tournament as he moved into a tie for 32nd place. Michael Cotton finished tied with Pearson in 32nd place after struggling in the final round with a 78. Freshman Thomas Rosenmueller shot a third-round of 75 and finished tied for 37th place.
North Texas returns to action February 26-28 at the John Hayt Intercollegiate.
