Mean Green Earn No. 24 National Ranking

DENTON — For the first time in program history, the 13-time conference champion North Texas women's soccer team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll at No. 24 in Tuesday's ranking.
The No. 24 Mean Green (9-1-1, 4-0), who are riding a seven-match winning streak and a five-match shutout streak had received 29 top 25 votes last week and jumped five schools to the No. 24 ranking. They remained at No. 2 in the South Region ranking behind Memphis who is ranked No. 15 nationally.
Tuesday's ranking comes just a day after the team earned a No. 25 NCAA RPI ranking, which determines NCAA Tournament seeding.
It also comes a day after senior forward Taylor Torres was ranked No. 85 in Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Players and freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Brann was ranked No. 67 on Top Drawer's Top 100 Freshmen. Torres was the highest ranked Conference USA player and Brann was the No. 3 ranked goalie.
North Texas is on the road this week. They travel to Western Kentucky on Friday and then to Marshall on Sunday.
