MGVB To Face FAU To Open C-USA Tournament

DENTON - After closing the season on a seven-game winning streak, the North Texas volleyball team will face Florida Atlantic University on Friday at 1 p.m. in the first-round of the Air Force Reserve Conference USA Volleyball Championship.

North Texas (15-15, 11-3) enters the tournament, hosted by Marshall University, as the five seed.

The Owls, the four seed, won the only meeting between the two teams 3-1 in Denton on October 5. The match will be available to stream on ESPN+.

"Both our teams are playing well," head coach Andrew Palileo said. "Heading into the tournament, it should be a fun match to be a part of."

North Texas will look to reach the conference tournament final again after falling to hosts Western Kentucky University in last season's tournament. North Texas was the #1 seed last season after winning the regular season conference title.

This season's one seed will yet again be from Texas. The Rice University Owls will be the top seed after a 12-2 mark in conference play.

Tickets for the tournament may be purchased from the Conference USA website for any day of competition.
