Fine Named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Semifinalist

TYLER, Texas - Junior quarterback Mason Fine was named one of 13 semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, the selection committee announced Friday.
Finalists will be selected from this group and announced on December 5, 2018. The winner will be announced at the award banquet in Tyler, Texas on January 9, 2019. All finalists will be invited to the event.Â
Fine has completed 269 of 421 passes (63.9 percent) for 3,414 yards, 25 touchdowns and just four interceptions, leading the Mean Green to an 8-3 record
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year Division I Texas college.
