Wilson Added To 49ers Roster

SANTA CLARA, California - Former North Texas running back Jeffery Wilson was promoted the active roster of the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced Saturday.Â
Wilson will be active for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, slated to kick off at noon CT from Tampa Bay and the game will be broadcast live on Fox. Wilson was originally signed as an undrafted free agent and after being waived prior to the start of the 2018 regular season, was signed to the 49ers' practice squad on Sept. 2.
Wilson ranks third all-time in rushing touchdowns at North Texas with 32 and fourth all-time in rushing yards with 3,205. Despite missing the final three games of his senior season with an injury, Wilson still managed to rush for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, while also catching 24 passes for 168 yards in 11 games in 2017. He appeared in 41 games for the Mean Green, where in addition to his prowess on the ground, caught 70 passes for 527 yards and two more touchdowns.Â
The Elkhart, Texas, native will wear number 41 for San Francisco.
Wilson is one of three former Mean Green players on active NFL rosters - Wilson, linebacker Craig Robertson (New Orleans Saints) and fullback Jamize Olawale (Dallas Cowboys)
