Mitchell, Aston Together Again In Denton

DENTON – Come Monday evening, Jalie Mitchell will once again be on the same court as Karen Aston, although this time the duo will be on opposite sidelines as Mitchell's Mean Green will face Aston's 11th-ranked Longhorns inside The Super Pit.
The relationship between the two began back during Mitchell's playing days at Duncanville High School where Aston, then an assistant coach at UNT, recruited Mitchell. While Mitchell went on to become the all-time leading scorer for the Mean Green, Aston headed to Austin to join the Longhorn coaching staff.
The pair reunited in Denton for the 2011-12 season when Aston took the head coaching job and Mitchell joined her team as an assistant. Following that season, Aston and Mitchell headed to UT in the same capacities and worked together for three seasons while taking the team to the Sweet 16 in 2015. Mitchell then became the eighth head coach for the Mean Green that April.
