DENTON - North Texas head coach Seth Littrell spoke with media members Tuesday in his weekly press conference ahead of the Mean Green's season opener this Saturday against Metroplex rival SMU at 6:30 p.m. CT from Apogee Stadium. The Mean Green return 17 starters from their 2017 team that won nine games and played in a bowl for the second straight year. SMU enters 2018 in transition after its previous head coach Chad Morris departed for Arkansas (North Texas' week 3 opponent). Sonny Dykes is now at the helm for the Mustangs, after taking over just before their bowl game in 2017.
