GAME NOTES
DENTON — The North Texas men's basketball team hosts UAB on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Super Pit as the Mean Green look to extend their Conference USA-best 14-game home winning streak.
Thursday's matchup, which will be the team's Coaches vs. Cancer game and will feature the coaching staff wearing sneakers in support of the cause, pits North Texas (17-2, 5-1 C-USA), less than a week removed from its 16-point second-half come from behind win over Rice, against a Blazer (12-7. 4-2 C-USA) squad that is coming off double-digit victories over UTEP (13 points) and UTSA (10 points) last week.
It will be the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools. Both have beaten the other three times with UNT winning last year in Birmingham, Alabama, 67-60, in their only meeting

STILL THE ONLY TEAM IN THE COUNTRY
North Texas is the only team in the country that has six guys with a double-digit scoring average (Woolridge 12.6 ppg, Gibson 12.1 ppg, Z. Simmons 11.6 ppg, Smart 11.1 ppg, Miller 11.0 ppg, Duffy 10.4 ppg).

North Texas is 5-1 this year in games decided by five or fewer points and 3-1 in conference. They were 7-7 in all games last year decided by five or less and were 4-6 in conference games last year. North Texas' last two games were both decided by one point.
IN CRUNCH TIME
In the final minute of games, North Texas is outscoring its opponents by a combined 19 points. In the final minute of games, they are led by two of its seniors Michael Miller and Jorden Duffy. Miller, who has made two game winning shots, leads the team in scoring in the final minute of games and Duffy leads the team in rebounding and is 10-for-11 at the free throw line in the final minute of games.
GOING FOR THE RECORD
North Texas redshirt freshman Umoja Gibson's 48 three-pointers (2.6 per game) this season are 29 off the school-record for a freshman. Chris Davis' 77 three pointers in 1999-00 is the school record. Gibson is on pace to finish the regular season with 79 three pointers.
STEALS RECORD
Junior Ryan Woolridge is just 22 steals from setting the school record for career steals (151). Woolridge enters Thursday's game with 130 career steals. He had five steals versus Rice on Saturday. His season-high is six at New Mexico. He had a career-high eight steals last year versus UTSA.
COACHING WINS
Second-year head coach Grant McCasland enters Thursday's game with 37 wins as the Mean Green's head coach. He is one win shy of tying Terrance Myracle (1929-33) for 10th all-time. It took Myracle four seasons to get to 38 wins. This season alone, McCasland has surpassed Tommy Newman (1983-86), Gene Robbins (1971-75) and Charles Johnson (1959-65). Peter Shands' 224 wins is the program-record. Shands coached at North Texas from 1935-59. His 22 years as UNT's head coach is by far the longest in program history. He and Johnny Jones (2001- 12) are the only coaches to coach at UNT for over 10 seasons.
