Mooney Named Special Teams POTW

DALLAS - Sophomore kicker Ethan Mooney was named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week following his big performance against Middle Tennessee in the Mean Green's 33-30 win. Mooney hit all four of his field goals, incluyding the game-winner as time expired. C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league's media and are presented by Top of the World Headwear.
Mooney accounted for 15 of the 21 special teams points for the Mean Green in their win over Middle Tennessee. The Fort Worth, Texas, native was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts, connecting from 26, 32, 39 and 22 yards. The 22-yarder came as time expired to send North Texas back into the win column for the first time since week four against UTSA. Mooney leads C-USA and is tied for sixth nationally with 13 field goals made on the season.
