Fine Named Unitas Golden Arm Award Finalist

BALTIMORE - North Texas quarterback Mason Fine was named as one of 20 finalists for the 2019 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Tuesday. The award is presented annually to the top senior or fourth-year junior quarterback set to graduate with their class by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation.
The Peggs, Oklahoma, native is the FBS' active national leader in career passing yards (10,708) and is third among active FBS quarterbacks in career touchdown passes (75). He leads a Mean Green offense that is averaging 33.0 points per game through the first five games of 2019.
Fine has completed 116-186 passes (62.4%) for 1,291 yards and 11 touchdowns to just three interceptions through five games to start 2019.

Fine is a member of several national award watch lists: the Walter Camp Player of the Year, Davey O'Brien, Maxwell, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose and was named the Conference USA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year as voted on by the league's head coaches.
