Howell Named Spirit of Service Recipient

DALLAS – Conference USA announced the 14 student-athletes receiving the C-USA Fall Spirit of Service Award today, and Mean Green fullback Kyleb Howell is North Texas' recipient. The award honors the league's student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and participation in their sport. The Spirit of Service award is presented three times throughout the season, with today's honorees representing fall sports: men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
Howell, a redshirt junior for the North Texas football team, appeared in all 12 games. He posted a 3.379 GPA as a kinesiology major. In the community, Howell emphasizes spending time with children regularly reads to students at Ginnings Elementary and Tomas Rivea Elementary schools in Denton. Also, Kyleb has interest in creating camps specifically for students with special needs, which he hopes to accomplish in the near future.
