Men’s 4X100 Qualifies For Finals

AUSTIN – The men's 4x100-meter relay team from North Texas track and field qualified for the finals at The Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The crew of Darien Porter, Davonye Jones, Antonio DeLaCruz and James Cole clocked a time of 40.18 to clinch the last spot in the finals taking place Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The women's 4x100 relay team consisting of Alia Holmes, Aneesa Scott, Breanna Eckels and Cecily Edwards ran a 46.10 to finish 13thin the first round. Scott, Lyric Choice, Lauryn McCollum and Artesha Richardson came in 12thin the 4x400 during the opening set with a time of 3:35.42.
Choice competed in the first round of 100-meter hurdles and finished 57thin a time of 14.54, and Joseph Squire ran a 14.44 in the 110-meter hurdles to conclude in 24thin the initial set.
Eckels captured fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 6.05 meters, and Kristyn Archuleta threw a season-best 49.52 meters in the javelin to finish sixth.
Saturday marks the final day of the meet with North Texas beginning competition in the field events at 10 a.m. and running events at noon.
