AKERS SAYS: "We are very excited to play in Hawaii. Of course, the experience is one the ladies will never forget. There are some good Texas programs since it is spring break."

The Mean Green were ranked No. 201 following the 2015-16 season, and since Akers arrived in Denton, UNT has soared as many as 109 spots to break into the top 100, and ended last season 92 spots better than when he arrived in Denton. The first official ranking of 2018-19 was released before the Betsy Rawls, and had North Texas ranked No. 103. Heading into this tournament, UNT is ranked No. 80.
Â
UP NEXT: The Mean Green will head to The Mountainview Collegiate at Mountainview Golf Course in Tucson, Arizona, March 22-24, before hosting The Bruzzy at Lantana.
