Mayfield Signs With Bucs Following Minicamp

TAMPA BAY - Former North Texas offensive lineman Riley Mayfield was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday, following rookie minicamp.
Mayfield spent two seasons with the Mean Green as the starting right tackle. He made 27 appearances, all starts while in Denton. A standout in the classroom as well, the Cedar Park, Texas, native was named to the InTouch Credit Union Conference USA All-Academic Team in both 2017 and 2018.Â
Mayfield joins seven other Mean Green players that remain on NFL rosters, including five who were on the field in Denton last season - linebacker E.J. Ejiya (Baltimore Ravens), wide receiver Jalen Guyton (Dallas Cowboys), cornerback Kemon Hall (Los Angeles Chargers), cornerback Nate Brooks (Arizona Cardinals) and kicker Cole Hedlund (Indianapolis Colts). Linebacker Craig Robertson re-upped with the Saints this offseason, while fullback Jamize Olawale is also a member of the Cowboys.
