DENTON - North Texas head volleyball coach Andrew Palileo will host seven volleyball summer camps in July.
Â
The 2019 summer will open July 8-9 with a youth camp open to third through eighth grade students and focusing on the fundamental skills. Participants will be trained on each specialized position as well as basic instruction on volleyball defensive and offensive systems.
Â
There will also be a beginner serving camp July 8-9. Open to fourth through eighth grade students, the camp is designed to provide participants with the repetition of skills and techniques that will develop a stronger, more efficient serve.
Â
For athletes in grades seven through twelve, North Texas will offer an advanced serving camp July 10-11. This camp's focus is on advanced techniques that will improve power, speed and control when serving. Athletes in middle and high school looking to improve their location, efficiency and effectiveness are encouraged to attend this camp.
Â
July 10-11 will also be an opportunity for middle and high school athletes to improve their passing, defense, setting, and serving abilities at the libero, passing and defensive camp.
Â
High school setters and hitters are invited to participate in the setter and hitter camp July 12-13. This camp will provide specialized setter instruction as well as allow hitters to focus on their techniques in preparation for the high school season. Campers at this session will be grouped by skill level.
Â
The All Skills camp will be open for athletes grades seven through twelve July 15-16. This camp will offer the highest level of training and is geared towards experienced players, and will give campers exposure to the collegiate practice environment while raising their skill level in a competitive setting.
Â
North Texas will close the camp season with its intensive elite camp set for July 18-19. This camp will be five sessions and will offer a high level of collegiate training and intense competitive play. This camp is tailored towards athletes with a strong volleyball background and a desire to pursue a volleyball career past high school.
