Palileo Rounds Out Recruiting Class

DENTON – Head coach Andrew Palileo rounded out the 2019 signing class adding two more liberos. Jordan Burks and Alleyah Galdeira are both class of 2019 and will join the Mean Green as libero and defensive specialists.
Burks joins from Weatherford High School southwest of Denton. Prior to the high school season Burks was named as a Fort Worth Star-Telegram player to watch. Burks played her club ball for Club Texas in Dallas-Fort Worth on CTV 18 Elite under head coach Christy Stewart and assistant Sarah Roberts. The team qualified for 18's Junior Girls Nationals where they won bronze.
Burks was selected as the Most Valuable Libero in Parker County in 2019 after being named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.
Aleeyah Galdeira from Waimanalo, Hawaii is a right-handed libero and defensive specialist. Galdeira played her club ball at RVC Hawaii. Galldeira played both indoor and beach volleyball, making the state finals in beach. Both recruits will be important depth pieces in the defensive phase of the game.
Palileo looks forward to fall camp when the two will join the team. North Texas ranked ninth in digs in Conference USA in 2018, averaging 14.33 digs per set.
"They will both provide depth," Palileo said. "We lacked that last season. It will be nice to have that depth for our team. I'm looking forward to working with them in the fall as we work towards becoming a better defensive team."
