DENTON – Conference USA released the 2019-20 women's basketball schedule, which features traditional play for the first 14 contests and the final four games to be determined by the most competitive matchups coupled with geographical constraints.
The Mean Green begin their C-USA quest inside The Super Pit Jan. 2 and Jan. 4 against Western Kentucky and Marshall, respectively. The following week the squad heads to Florida International and Florida Atlantic before returning home to face Southern Miss Jan. 16 and Louisiana Tech Jan. 18.
UNT then travels south to UTSA Jan. 23 and UTEP Jan. 25 and returns to The Pit for a three-game homestand versus Rice (Feb. 1), Middle Tennessee (Feb. 6) and UAB (Feb. 8). Trips to Charlotte (Feb. 13), Old Dominion (Feb. 15) and Rice (Feb. 20) round out the first 14 games.
The last four contests, along with a bye, will be determined no later than Dec. 15 and held Feb. 22, Feb. 26, Feb. 29, March 5 and March 7 with the C-USA Tournament beginning the following week.
"We are thrilled about the opportunity to start next season's conference schedule at home," head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "While non-conference play will challenge our team and prepare us to compete at a high level, league play will always bring new obstacles for us to overcome. We have a young and talented team that will be ready to tackle a tough and very competitive conference one game at a time."
The Mean Green open the 2019-20 season with an exhibition contest at home Nov. 3 against Texas Woman's before the regular season begins Nov. 7 inside The Pit versus Mid-America Christian.
