DENTON - Welcome to the new world of sports on television.
Mean Green football games in 2019 will be available on a variety of cable TV channels and online streaming services, but the emphasis this season is on streaming.
For those accustomed to watching television via over-the-air antenna, cable TV or satellite systems, streaming is the distribution of television content over the Internet. There are streaming services that specialize in movies and TV shows on demand, like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu, and services that stream live TV, such as YouTube TV, Playstation Vue, Sling, and fuboTV. Some services provide both on demand and live TV.
There are also streaming services that show their own content, like ESPN3 and Stadium.
Bottom line: if you have access to the internet, you can probably watch all of the Mean Green's games this year, although you may need to pay a subscription fee for some games.
North Texas will be on the following services in 2019:
- ESPN+, ESPN's subscription online streaming service.
- ESPN3, ESPN's online streaming service.
- Pac-12 Networks, available on some cable systems and streaming online.
- Stadium through Facebook, an online streaming service.
- CBS Sports Networks exclusively through Facebook, an online streaming service.
- Stadium, an online streaming service.
- NFL Network, available on some cable systems and some online streaming services, like Sling and fubo.
