DENTON – Head coach Jalie Mitchell announced the addition of Brinee' Dancer as the director of basketball operations for North Texas women's basketball Monday.
Dancer comes to Denton after two years at Tennessee State as the director of operations for women's basketball where she handled all operational functions for the program.
"It is a pleasure to welcome Brinee' home. A product of Duncanville, she is no stranger to hard work and dedication. She comes highly recommended from Tennessee State," Mitchell said.
"I am excited and thankful for this opportunity from Coach Mitchell," Dancer said. "I am ready to serve and be a part of the Mean Green women's basketball program and continue to learn and grow under the leadership of Coach Mitchell."
Before TSU, Dancer served as a graduate assistant coach on the women's basketball staff at Mississippi Valley State where she coordinated travel, assisted with the budget, conducted video sessions and monitored study hall. She also helped with the development of All-SWAC First Team selection Ashley Beals.
Dancer worked with Lady Eagles Sports in Dallas for a year as the coordinator where she served as an advisor, organized travel and monitored the team. Dancer also spent time with the Summer Basketball Organization in Fort Worth as a DFW Elite Basketball Grassroots assistant coach.
Dancer was a member of the women's basketball team at Johnson C. Smith for two seasons before graduating from Southern Polytechnic State with a bachelor of science in business administration. She earned a master's degree in sports administration from Mississippi Valley State in August 2018.
"As a former collegiate athlete, Brinee' knows exactly what it takes to be successful on and off the court. I am ecstatic for her to not only help our young women in that aspect, but also for them to visibly see her excel off the court. She is the next level, which gives them someone to look up to and learn from. Brinee' is very enthusiastic, intentional and an encouragement to everyone around her. We are ready for what she brings and the lasting impact it will have on our program," Mitchell said.
