#NFLMeanGreen - Week Seven Recap

DENTON – With week seven of the National Football League's 2020 season complete, MeanGreenSports.com presents fans with the seventh installment of the 2020 rendition of #NFLMeanGreen.

It was a big week in the NFL for former Mean Green players, especially San Francisco 49ers (4-3) running back Jeffery Wilson. Wilson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after his career game in San Francisco's dominating 33-6 victory over the New England Patriots (2-4). The former North Texas running back tallied career highs in both rushing yards (112) and touchdowns (3), the performance marked Wilson's first career 100-yard game. Wilson has now rushed for 534 yards in his career and scored eight touchdowns on the ground. The 49ers will travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks (5-1) on Sunday with kickoff set for 3:25 p.m. on FOX.

Jalen Guyton continued to be a deep ball threat for the Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) in their 39-29 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6). Guyton hauled in a 70-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert to tie the game at 29 late in the third quarter. Of his seven receptions in 2020, Guyton has three of at least 45 yards and three touchdowns. The Allen native finished the game with two receptions for 84 yards and the one score. The Chargers will be on the road in the Mile High city as they take on the Denver Broncos (2-4) on Sunday with kickoff also set for 3:25 p.m. and being broadcasted on CBS.

Craig Robertson recorded his first tackle of the season in the New Orleans Saints (4-2) 27-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers (3-4). Robertson now has 550 tackles over his nine-year NFL career with 343 of them being solo. The Saints will head to Chicago to take on the Bears (5-2) in week seven with kickoff at 3:25 p.m. on FOX.
