#NFLMeanGreen - Week Eight Recap

DENTON – With week eight of the National Football League's 2020 season complete, MeanGreenSports.com presents fans with the latest installment of the 2020 rendition of #NFLMeanGreen.

It was a quiet week for former Mean Green players compared to week seven, however both Jalen Guyton and Craig Robertson saw action last Sunday.

Robertson and the New Orleans Saints (5-2) picked up their fourth consecutive win with a 26-23 overtime victory over the Chicago Bears (5-3) last Sunday. Robertson appeared for the seventh time this season on special teams and picked up a tackle, the second of the season and 551st of his NFL career. The Saints will travel to Tampa Bay to take on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers (6-2) on Sunday Night Football, kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. on NBC.

Guyton's Los Angeles Chargers (2-5) fell by a score of 31-30 to the Denver Broncos (3-4) in week seven. Denver scored 28 second half points after being down 14-3 at halftime to secure the victory thanks to quarterback Drew Lock's touchdown pass as time expired. Guyton hauled in just one pass for three yards in the loss bringing his season stats to nine receptions for 261 yards and three touchdowns. The Chargers will host the Los Vegas Raiders (4-3) on Sunday with kickoff set for 3:05 p.m. om FOX.

Jeff Wilson Jr. did not play in the San Francisco 49ers (4-4) 35-27 loss to the Seattle Seahawks (6-1) in week seven due to an ankle injury he suffered during the game against the Patriots. Wilson is expected to miss some time on the Injured Reserve list. The 49ers suffered their second straight loss with a 34-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers (6-2) on Thursday Night Football.
