Mean Green Lose 62-50 At No. 11 West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W Va. — After taking an eight-point lead over No. 11 West Virginia into halftime, the Mean Green were outscored 41-21 by the nationally ranked Mountaineers (5-1) in the second-half and lost 62-50 Friday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
UNT (1-3) shot almost 60 percent in the first half. However, in the second-half the Mean Green shot 19 percent and didn't score their first basket of the half until the 12:59 mark. Meanwhile, WVU went on an 18-0 run during that stretch.
North Texas was led by Javion Hamlet who scored 15 points.
"We have to be better and tougher," said Hamlet. "We played well in the first half but no moral victories at all. We have to do better and I have to too. Missed too many shots."
Next on the Mean Green schedule is a home game against Arkansas Pine Bluff on Dec. 15.
