Novil Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

DALLAS – North Texas senior defensive lineman Dion Novil was named as one of 11 Conference USA football student-athletes that were named to the 2020 C-USA Football All-Academic Team for excelling both on and off the field this season.
North Texas senior DT Dion Novil has a 3.514 GPA in Integrative Studies. A member of the team's leadership council, He was named Pro Football Focus National Defensive Player of the Week and Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Rice (8 tackles, 5.0 TFL's, one sack and two forced fumbles) on November 21. Novil has started all nine games for the Mean Green in 2020, recording 37 total tackles (22 solo) with a team-high 8.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a quarterback hurry.
