Mean Green Fall 7-0 Versus K-State

TUCSON, Arizona — The North Texas tennis team lost 7-0 Saturday afternoon in a neutral site match versus Kansas State.
The Mean Green's (5-2) Maria Ponomareva was the only UNT player to take their singles match into a third set . North Texas' No. 2 doubles team of Ponomareva and Nidhi Surapaneni were leading 5-2 in their doubles match when the doubles point was awarded to K-State (4-2) after winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The Wildcats are now on a three-match winning streak.
"We ran into a very talented Kansas State team," said head coach Sujay Lama. "There were some opening but we were not able to play with conviction to capitalize on them. We played two top 50 teams this weekend and we will learn and grow from this experience. It starts with tenacity and mindset in practice on Monday."
North Texas hosts Louisiana Tech on Friday at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
