INDIANAPOLIS - Former North Texas defensive end LaDarius Hamilton concluded his week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis with a very strong showing during the on-field portion of the event.
In addition to all of his meetings with team representatives, medical and psychological testing, as well as his media obligations, Hamilton showcased his talent across several of the metrics at the combine.
Hamilton was a top performer among his position group in three of the six primary drills, which means he ranked among the top 15 in his group in the bench press, broad jump and 20-yard shuttle.
Results
Bench Press: 27 reps (Friday) - Tied for 10th-most out of all defensive linemen who participated (38)
40-Yard Dash: 4.89 seconds (Saturday) - Tied for 16th out of 38 participating defensive linemen (and had a 1.84 10-yard split)
Vertical Jump: 30.0 inches (Saturday) - Tied for 17th out of 32 participating defensive linemen
Broad Jump: 9'6" or 114.0 inches (Saturday) - Tied for 14th among 29 participating defensive linemen
3-Cone Drill: 7.66 seconds (Saturday) - 16th out of 27 participating defensive linemen
20-Yard Shuttle: 4.49 seconds (Saturday) - 11th out of 26 participating defensive linemen
In addition to his success in the above areas, Hamilton was strong in a variety of on-field, position specific drills including the new hoop drill and the run and club drill. He showed off in the drills designed to showcase change of direction speed, quickness off the ball and balance.
Additionally, Hamilton was asked to complete some of the drills specific to the linebacker position as well, including a shuffle drill, sprint drill short zone breaks drill and a specific change of direction drill.
Hamilton and several other former Mean Green players are scheduled to compete in the Mean Green's Pro Day in front of professional scouts on March 26 in Denton.
