UNT Adds QB Amani Gilmore from Kentucky

DENTON – North Texas head football coach Seth Littrell announced the addition of quarterback Amani Gilmore, a transfer from Kentucky, Friday following Gilmore's signing of a financial aid agreement.
Gilmore spent the first season of his collegiate career at Kentucky, where he redshirted in 2019.
A native of Amite, Louisiana, Gilmore signed with Kentucky as a three-star prospect according to 247Sports, who also ranked him as the No. 42 pro-style quarterback in the nation in the class of 2019.
Gilmore led Amite High School to the 2018 Louisiana 2A State Championship, the school's first in 14 years and fifth in program history. Gilmore was named the game's Most Outstanding Player after accounting for 366 of his team's 442 total yards and six scores.
A two-sport athlete, Gilmore also played baseball in high school as a left-handed pitcher and outfielder. In addition to his offer from Kentucky, Gilmore also held an offer from fellow SEC program Tennessee.
Gilmore will join his new teammates in Denton ahead of the 2020 season.
