A Year In Waiting

DENTON – There will be a certain trio of Mean Green suiting up for North Texas women's basketball for the first time during the 2020-21 season, but none are new to the program, and all will be familiar faces.
Rochelle Lee, Quincy Noble and Destiny Brooks each arrived in Denton last summer as transfers. Due to NCAA regulations, they were not allowed to compete and were required to sit out last season while watching from the sidelines during game time.
However, they were still integral members of the team as they were allowed to practice and engage in team activities.
"Our transfers have given us great energy from day one. Whether in practice, in the film room or on game day, they show up to exceed expectations," head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "Having them last season to help guide our younger players as they navigated a new beginning and higher level of play was priceless. They have shared their experiences, exemplified the work ethic that's required on a daily basis and also been a sounding board for those who needed advice.
"Quincy, Destiny and Rochelle all understand the importance of leadership and how valuable they are to our team. I believe their availability this upcoming season makes us better in more ways than I can count, and I look forward to their continued contributions to our program!"
This week we will take a look at what to expect on the floor from this group. Lee will be highlighted Thursday, followed by Noble Friday and Brooks Saturday.
