DENTON - In an ongoing series, members of the UNT women's golf team will tell fans a bit about themselves, answering some questions about golf and some about off-the-wall topics. This week's installment is with junior Audrey Tan, who was a competitive rhythmic gymnast and has never seen something tall she won't climb.

Q: How old were you when you started playing golf?
A: I started playing golf at the age of 13 after playing tennis and doing rhythmic gymnastics competitively before that.
Q: Why were you initially interested in playing golf?
A: My dad was a golfer himself and wanted my brother and I to try it out.
Q: Why did you keep playing golf? Was it just a matter of realizing you were pretty good or was it something more than that?

A: Being able to to travel to so many different places and meet new people.
Q: What is your favorite club in your bag?
A: My favorite club in my bag is my putter.

Q: What is the best course you've ever played?
A: Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in Utah was so, so beautiful, and the lava holes made it very unique.
Q: What is your favorite golf memory?
A: It was probably my first time shooting under par at a tournament. I shot 4-under after starting the round with three straight bogeys.

Q: What is your favorite hobby when you're not playing golf?
A: Rock climbing!
Q: Who has been your biggest inspiration through the years?
A: There isn't really one single person. It's various people for different aspects of my life, like my teammates when I'm competing in the U.S.
Q: Why did you choose UNT?
A: I chose UNT because Coach Akers was one of the most responsive and helpful coaches out of the other schools I was talking to, and that was a big deciding factor.

Q: If you could have dinner with three people - dead or alive - who would it be?
A: Roger Federer, Tim Urban and Ashima Shiraishi.

Q: Are you a dog or cat person? Do you have any pets?
A: I'm more of a dog person, but I love cats, too! I have a Yorkshire terrier called Toby.
Q: You can take three things with you to a deserted island, what do you take?
A: A scuba mask, sunscreen and a boat (assuming food and water are covered).

A: Inception (or any Christopher Nolan or Denis Villeneuve movie).
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: I really can't choose one, but right now I'm currently watching “Breaking Bad.”

A: Also, it's impossible to choose one, but my top choices are Kodaline, Bazzi and Coldplay.
Q: Who on the team has the best taste in music aside from yourself? Who has the worst?
A: Patty because she introduces me to new music/artists. As for worst? Probably Coach Akers, just because we have different tastes not because it's bad (I'm sorry, Coach!)
