DENTON – Throughout the summer, North Texas Athletics has been diligently preparing to open the 2020 football season. With the combined efforts of the entire department, policies, procedures and guidelines have been put in place to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for fans attending games at Apogee Stadium. In order to ensure this atmosphere lasts the entirety of the season, fans are asked to observe the guidelines outlined below, and to be respectful of other attendees.
A full list of gameday guidelines can be found on the Apogee Stadium A-Z guide located here. A continuously updated list of announcements and updates, as well as an FAQ page can be found here. Highlighted items are listed below:
- Health Screenings – No screenings will be performed before entering Apogee Stadium, but fans are asked to self-evaluate before attending games. If you are showing symptoms, there are plenty of available options to follow the game at home.
-
Masks – All fans and staff will be required to wear face masks inside of Apogee Stadium at all times except while eating or drinking. Fans who arrive without a mask will need to purchase one at the team store located near gate two before entering.
-
Tailgating - The Governor's executive order at this time does not permit any sanctioned tailgating activities larger than 10 people for attendees. As a result, UNT will be limiting tent offerings and sponsored activities on The Hill and in parking lots until restrictions are lifted. Any groups fewer than 10 must remain at least 6 feet apart from others and face masks are required. All University of North Texas sponsored tailgating events have been canceled for the game on September 5. Lots will open three hours prior to kickoff.
-
Parking - Gameday parking will be adjusted for this season only. Fan parking will be available in the Blue and Orange lots. Please visit the gameday FAQ page for full parking details.
-
Seating – Season ticket holders have been assigned new seating to ensure safe social distancing between groups. Student and single game seating has also been adjusted to maintain social distancing. Students can click here for details on student tickets and seating.
-
Entry – Fans are asked to enter Apogee Stadium via the gate closest to their seat. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff, and fans are asked not to crowd gates during entry. A stadium map is available here.
-
Flow – Fans are asked to reduce their movement around the stadium where possible. Bathrooms and vomitories have designated entries and exits to reduce cross-flow.
-
Concessions – Mean Green Concessions has introduced grab-and-go and contactless ordering options. Lines outside of stands have also been marked to maintain social distancing. Click here for details on contactless ordering.
