Mean Green Football Return to Play FAQ:
Q: Will I be required to wear a face covering?
A: Yes. All fans and staff will be required to wear face masks inside of Apogee Stadium at all times except while eating or drinking. Fans who arrive without a mask will need to purchase one at the Team Store located near Gate two before entering.
Q: How are tickets being handled for the 2020 football season?
A: Due to the large reduction in ticket inventory, we will be working with season ticket holders to assign new seat locations that support social distancing and spacing within each section throughout the stadium for the 2020 season. Beginning August 18th each season ticket holder in the bowl of Apogee will be assigned a time in which they will log into their Mean Green Tickets account to select their seats for this season. Seat selection times will be determined by the account holder’s priority points, which are calculated annually based on previous ticket purchases and contributions to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund.
Q: What are the capacity limits inside the stadium?
A: Lower bowl – 25%; Suites & HUB Club – 50%
Q: Will season ticket prices remain the same?
A: Yes, while seat location will likely differ, this is a change being experienced by all, and your donor rank and priority points will grant you access to the best seats relative to your peers.
Q: Will I be able to see which seats are available before my appointment time?
A: Yes. Our ticket system, Paciolan, will outline the seating map adjustments prior to your seat selection time that adhere to social distancing protocols and is able to display available seating options with social distancing adjustment to assist in selecting the seat(s) you prefer. Inventory is updated in real time. To view the best possible inventory available during your selection time, you should log into the system as soon as your selection window opens. Fans will not be able to access the real time inventory map prior to their selection window.
Q: What happens if I do not select a seat during my appointment time?
A: If you do not select seats during your selection window, the ticketing staff will automatically allocate seats in the same price level and as close to your original seat location as possible, based on availability.
Q: What if I opt out of season tickets for the 2020 season? How do I do so?
A: If you choose to opt out you will have three options. Simply reach out to the UNT Athletics Ticket Office at (940) 565-2527 or Email at ticketoffice@unt.edu to begin the process.
- A credit for the equal amount will be applied to your account for the 2021 football season
- You can opt to support the UNiTe Initiative and move the ticket payment amount to a 100% charitable donation to the MGSF in support of our student athletes.
- Request a refund
Q: What if I am not an MGSF member, but I select seats that require a per-seat contribution?
A: You will be required to pay the MGSF per-seat contribution.
Q: What if I purchase fewer tickets than I have in the past, leaving a credit on my account?
A: That surplus can be rolled to the 2021 season as a ticket credit or shifted to a 100% tax deductible MGSF donation. Refer to Question seven above.
Q: May I purchase more tickets than I have in the past?
A: For all areas of the stadium except the HUB Club, yes you may purchase more tickets than you originally did on your 2020 Football invoice. Please contact a ticket office representative by phone at (940) 565-2527 to do so.
Q: Can I only purchase two seats in a block of eight that is available?
A: No; fans must purchase the entire block. Multiple groups purchasing in the same block would violate social distancing guidelines.
Q: Do I have to pay in full again for the seats I select if I’ve already purchased season tickets for 2020?
A: No; any amount already paid to ticket costs or given for required seat donation funds may be used for this year.
Q: Will the Alumni Pavilion be open to fans this season?
A: No, the Alumni Pavilion will not be open this season.
Q: Will parking be affected?
A: Gameday parking will be adjusted for this season only. Fan parking will be available in the Blue and Orange lot.
- Suite holders will receive their same season-long parking included in their suite agreements, including any additional parking covered in their membership level.
- Club seat holders will receive their same season-long parking previously allocated in their account. Additional parking can be added.
- Lower bowl ticket purchasers will have the opportunity to secure parking when selecting their seats online or by calling into the Athletics Ticket Office.
- RV parking is still available, and all RV accounts will receive separate communication with options for this season.
- Fans will be able to add parking to their gameday experience by using Park Mobile.

Q: What is preventing fans from sitting in non-distanced seats?
A: We ask for your cooperation by sitting in the seat that you selected during the select-a-seat event. In order to ensure a safe environment throughout the season, cooperation is necessary from all fans.
Q: How will tailgating be different?

MGSF Introduces UNiTe Initiative - August 25
While the landscape of intercollegiate athletics has changed daily since March, one thing that has remained constant is the need to support our student-athletes. The financial challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic are apparent and real.
Recently, loyal supporter of Mean Green athletics Jerome "Bruzzy" Westheimer donated $25,000 to go towards student-athlete scholarships and expenses. In a letter written to athletics staff, Westheimer expresses that "Scholarships for student-athletes need to be paid moving forward." During times of uncertainty, supporters like Westheimer are invaluable. "I am proud to have the resources to continue to help those students who came after I graduated North Texas."
"I've continued to be amazed by our supporters over the past few months. Philanthropic support for UNT athletics will be more important in the coming months than it has ever been" says UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker.
To help us attack this challenge, UNT Athletics and the Mean Green Scholarship Fund are introducing the "UNiTe Initiative" to support our student-athletes.
How to join or support:
- Designate money from unused tickets, parking or other planned UNT purchases
- Make an outright gift
Benefits of supporting:
- Supports student-athletes
- Gifts are 100% tax deductible

Reduced Capacity Plan Announced for 2020 Season Ticket Holders - August 19
As the 2020 football season quickly approaches, UNT Athletics officials continue to closely monitor public health recommendations related to COVID-19 at the state, county, city, and campus levels in order to provide Mean Green fans with a safe and enjoyable experience. North Texas will begin the 2020 season with 25% capacity in the bowl of Apogee Stadium and 50% capacity in the HUB Club and suites. Masks or face coverings will be required at all times in Apogee Stadium.
Due to the large reduction in ticket inventory, UNT Athletics staff will be working with season ticket holders in the seating bowl to assign new seat locations that support social distancing and spacing within each section throughout the stadium for the 2020 season. Each season ticket holder, excluding suites and HUB Club, will be assigned a time in which they will log into their Mean Green Tickets account to select their seats. Seat selection times will be determined by the account holder's priority points, which are calculated annually based on previous ticket purchases and contributions to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund.
Detailed instructions and seat selection times will be communicated to account holders via email in the coming days. All selection windows will be during normal business hours. If a season ticket holder is unable to select their seats, several options will be made available, including, designating a family member to make their selection, contacting the ticket office or Mean Green Scholarship Fund office by phone to assist with their selection, or requesting that UNT Athletics staff assign their seat location on their behalf.
Ticket Delivery
In light of the short turnaround time and current regulations regarding indoor gatherings of large groups, we will be unable to host the annual ticket pick-up event this year. Season ticket holders are encouraged to access their season tickets via their mobile phones on game day to further reduce person-to-person contact. Fans that do not have a smart phone or prefer a physical ticket are encouraged to use the print at home function of your Mean Green Tickets account.
Instructional videos to access mobile tickets, or print your tickets at home, can be found here.
New this season, season ticket holders can transfer their tickets to friends and family via a simple text message! To learn more about transferring your tickets, click here.
Mean Green season ticket holders will be mailed a commemorative package that includes souvenir season tickets, a special season ticket holder gift as well as other items and information that would traditionally be received at the season ticket pick-up event.
Parking
Season ticket holders whose annual MGSF gift qualifies them for parking benefits will be able to access their parking passes through their Mean Green Tickets account with their season tickets. Fans that do not have a season parking pass will be able to pay to park in the Blue and Orange lots on game day as in past seasons.
Fans that would like to take advantage of the Ticket Assurance Program should reach out to the North Texas Ticket Office by email or phone. North Texas Athletics is excited to see you at Apogee Stadium this season and we look forward to providing you with a safe, enjoyable experience this fall. Additional questions can be directed to the Ticket Office (940-565-2527 or TicketOffice@unt.edu) or the Mean Green Scholarship Fund office (940-369-7284 or MGSF@unt.edu).
Mean Green Concessions Introduces Mobile Ordering - August 17
Mean Green Concessions is partnering with FanFood, an in-venue mobile ordering platform, for the upcoming football season. This partnership enhances social distancing measures at Apogee Stadium by offering a contactless ordering option for fans. It also provides a more convenient option for patrons, while increasing the efficiency of the Mean Green Concessions staff.
"Our first goal when building the 2020 Concessions plan was to prioritize the health and safety of our Mean Green fans and concessions team members," states John Gibson, assistant athletic director of concessions. "Our next goal was to maintain a great Mean Green fan experience while implementing various health and safety practices within our operation. The FanFood partnership helps us accomplish both of these goals in a new and fun way."
Five concession locations at Apogee Stadium will be equipped with the FanFood ordering platform. Fans can use the FanFood app to view available menu items, order and pay from their seats and will receive a notification when their order is ready. Delivery options will also be available to fans in select sections.
In order to better serve patrons, a limited menu will be available on the platform including fan favorites such as: hot dogs, Syracuse's jalapeño cheese sausages, Crooked Crust Pizza, Coca-Cola products as well as Miller-Coors beer and wine selections.
While FanFood will be available at Apogee Stadium this Fall, it will also be available at the Super Pit for both men's and women's basketball games.
To access the FanFood app on Apple devices, click here. For Android devices, click here. The FanFood app may also be accessed via web browser by clicking here.

Season Ticket Assurance Program - May 26
If any portion of the 2020 home football schedule is impacted by COVID-19 resulting in games being cancelled or the number of in-person fans being limited, Mean Green season ticket holders will have the option to apply payments to future UNT Athletics events, convert payments to donations to the Mean Green Scholarship Fund or receive a refund.
