Jones Voted C-USA Freshman of Week

DALLAS — North Texas men's basketball freshman Rubin Jones has been voted the Surf & Turf Golf Conference USA Freshman of the Week as announced by the league Monday afternoon,
In the Mean Green's two games last week at UT San Antonio, Jones scored nine points and had five assists and was perfect at the free throw line.
Through 10 games this season, Jones is averaging 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Mean Green. He's shooting 40 percent from the field and is second on the team in steals and just one behind the team leader James Reese. Jones' 13 3-pointers are third-most on the team through 10 games.
Jones, a Houston native, was a top 30 recruit in the state of Texas and top 100 guard in the nation per most recruiting outlets.
North Texas returns to the Super Pit this week as they host UTEP on Friday at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday at 3 p.m.
