Tan Named C-USA Golfer of the Week

DALLAS – North Texas senior Audrey Tan led the way for the Mean Green women's golf team earlier this week at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate in Bowling Green, Ky., claiming a solo second-place showing in the event and leading her team to a second-place finish in its final tournament of the fall.
Tan, who entered the tournament ranked 66th in the country, helped the Mean Green to wins over No. 40 Oklahoma and No. 50 Augusta. For her performance, Tan was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. It marks Tan's third career Golfer of the Week honor.
The defending Conference USA champion was a model of consistency for the Mean Green in tough weather conditions that turned cold and gusty. She finished the tournament alone in second place after a 73-72-73-217 and led the field in Par 5 scoring, at 4-under par. She also tied for fourth in the field in total birdies.
Tan leads the team after three fall events with a 71.22 stroke average and has the low round of the season with a 66 at the season-opening Sam Golden Invitational.
The Mean Green will return to action Feb. 13-15 in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
