Three volleyball players earn All-CUSA honors

DENTON — North Texas volleyball had three players named to All-Conference USA teams, the league announced on Thursday.
Senior outside hitter Rhett Robinson was named First Team All-Conference USA. This is her third time making the First Team, as she also was tabbed with the same honors her sophomore and junior seasons.Â
The Krum, TX native had a standout season for the Mean Green, ranking sixth nationally in total kills and ranking second nationally in kills per set. In conference play, Robinson led C-USA both in total kills (219) and kills per set (5.34), and also led the league in points per set (6.09). She was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week twice (September 18 & October 16), and was also tabbed as the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week the week of October 16.
Senior middle blocker Sarah Haeussler was named Second Team All-Conference USA. The Aledo, TX native hit .335 in conference action, which led the Mean Green roster. She also averaged 2.13 kills per set in conference play, and registered 34 total blocks.
Freshman outside hitter Andrea Owens was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team. Despite missing time due to injury, Owens still had a solid debut season for North Texas, posting 80 kills in conference play. The Tucson, AZ native averaged 2.50 kills per set and accumulated 1.28 digs per set.
North Texas plays in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 Conference USA Tournament tomorrow against Middle Tennessee, beginning at 1 p.m.
