UNT Ready to Battle the Bears
12/27/2021 11:16:00 AM | Women's Basketball
DENTON, Texas – The North Texas women's basketball team is set to travel to Waco on Wednesday for its final non-conference game of the season against Baylor. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (CT) inside the Ferrell Center. Zac Babb will have the call on KNTU 88.1 FM.
UNT (6-3) comes into this game looking to finish December strong. North Texas' three losses in non-conference play come by a total of only 10 points. With new faces in the lineup, UNT has found new pieces to make this a great season. Point guard, Aly Gamez has been a key piece to offense. She has reached double figures in five out of the last six games. Amber Dixon continues to show why she was so highly touted coming from LA Tech. In just nine games with the new squad, she is averaging 10 points and four boards.
This will be the final non-conference test for the Mean Green as Baylor (9-2) has an excellent squad that owns a No. 21 NET ranking. With a win on Wednesday, UNT can take a lot of momentum into league play.
The game will broadcast on Big 12 Now/ESPN+.
QUOTING HEAD COACH JALIE MITCHELL
