Skopal named C-USA Setter of the Week

DENTON -- Senior Kaliegh Skopal was named the Conference USA Setter of the Week on Tuesday for her performances from Feb. 11-14. All C-USA weekly honors are presented by Surf & Turf Golf.

This is Skopal's fourth career C-USA Setter of the Week accolade, as the senior from Round Rock, Texas won Setter of the Week three times in 2019 before Guillain Barré Syndrome ended her season early.

In a week that saw the Mean Green go 2-1, Skopal averaged 44.67 assists per match and 11.17 assists per set. She recorded a season-high 49 assists in just four sets on Feb. 14 at UTSA. Skopal also tied a season-high three kills in the win over UT Arlington on Feb. 11.

Skopal also showed her presence on the defensive side of the net, notching seven total blocks and becoming the first setter at North Texas to have seven blocks in three consecutive matches since 2013. She also tallied a season-high 17 digs in the 3-2 win over UTSA on Feb. 13, along with recording 12.33 digs per match in the three contests last week.

The Mean Green will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. when they host Texas State at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
