Valerian named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Senior Valerie Valerian was named to the 2020-21 Conference USA All-Academic Team on Tuesday, per the league office.Â
This is Valerian's second career appearance on the All-Academic Team. She held one of the eleven spots on the 2019 All-Academic Team.
Valerian made the President's List in all of her semesters at UNT and graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She has received the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal in each of her four seasons at North Texas. Valerian also helped the Mean Green receive the C-USA Sport Academic Award for the 2019-2020 school year.Â
In 2020-21, Valerian missed some of the regular season due to an internship opportunity with PwC, an accounting firm based in Dallas.Â
Although she played a limited amount of matches in her senior season, Valerian finished fifth in program history in kills, sixth in digs and fifth in attacks.Â
