Holt Joins Mean Green

DENTON – Matt Holt joins North Texas as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to work with Mean Green women's basketball.
Holt comes to Denton from Milwaukee Athletics where he was the Director of Strength and Conditioning since 2017. He worked with men's basketball, volleyball, women's soccer, men's soccer, tennis and cross country.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Matt Holt to UNT," head coach Jalie Mitchell said. "He has a great reputation in his field, and we look forward to working and growing with him. Strength and conditioning is such a vital part to our success! Matt is experienced in our sport and completely invested, as is our staff and team. He will not only help set the tone for us daily, but he will continue to make our P.R.I.D.E. a priority."
"I am very appreciative of the opportunity that Coach Mitchell and (Director of Strength and Conditioning) Coach Zack Womack have given me," Holt said. "Their values and how they run their programs align with what I prioritize. I am very excited to be a part of the growth that Coach Mitchell is creating as we aim to develop the student-athletes and win a championship. I am looking forward to making an impact at UNT."
Holt joined Milwaukee Athletics in 2014 as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prior to that, he was at Marquette University as an intern from 2013-2014. Holt also served as an intern with Milwaukee Athletics from 2011-2013, during which time he completed his master's degree in Kinesiology.
Holt has additional experience working as an intern for the Milwaukee Bucks and as a Strength and Conditioning Assistant with Carroll University Baseball. Additionally, Holt was the Head Wrestling Coach at Waukesha West High School and an assistant at New Berlin West/Eisenhower High Schools.
Holt graduated from Carroll University in 2011 with a degree in exercise science and currently holds his SCCC and CSCS certifications.
