DENTON — The 16-time conference champion Mean Green soccer team has added Oklahoma transfer Jenna Sheely to its incoming recruiting class.
A native of Austin, Texas, who graduated from Jack C. Hayes High School in 2019, Sheely played the last two seasons for the Sooners as a forward/ midfielder.
"Jenna is a nice addition to the team," said head coach John Hedlund. "She is very athletic, has good size and speed and fits our style of play well. She is a north to south type of player that is always looking to get behind the defense and go to goal. I think she will fit quite nicely on our frontline."
Sheely was a two-year letterwinner at Jack C. Hays High School under head coach Brent Holcomb. She played her club soccer for Lonestar FC under coach Sophia Munday.
In her two seasons on varsity at Hays, Sheely was a two-time all-district selection and a two-time academic all-district selection. Sheely has also competed in beach volleyball and went to the 2014 and 2015 Junior Olympics.
At OU, Sheely has been awarded with Big-12 academic honors as she's posted a 4.0 grade point average. In high school, she was a member of National Honor Society and an AP Scholar. The daughter of Brian and Ann-Marie, she has one sibling, Brooke, who is an incoming beach volleyball student-athlete at TCU.
