DENTON — North Texas head volleyball coach Andrew Palileo has named Amanda Chamberlain as a new assistant coach on Wednesday.
Chamberlain joins the Mean Green after spending time coaching club volleyball with Seal Beach Volleyball. She also coached All-American Volleyball camps during summers.
"It was a great opportunity to bring back one of our former players," Palileo said. "She had a big impact on our 2017 championship team. We're excited that she's willing to come back and help and have the opportunity to be a mentor for our younger players."
Prior to her coaching career, Chamberlain played for the Mean Green under Palileo from 2014 to 2017. She was a two-time First Team All-Conference USA selection and twice led North Texas in kills. She still owns the program record for single season hitting percentage (.436) and career hitting percentage (.364).
Chamberlain was also named to the All-Freshman team after the 2014 season and earned a spot on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll on three occasions.
"I love volleyball, and I've always wanted to coach at the collegiate level," Chamberlain said. "I'm definitely excited to come back and see North Texas volleyball compete."
