
UNT Set to Host Southern Miss on Thursday

DENTON, Texas – North Texas women's basketball is set to host Southern Miss on Thursday inside the Super Pit at 6:30 p.m. (CT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+ and Zac Babb will have the call on KNTU 88.1 FM.
The Mean Green come into Thursday's game losing six out of its last seven but has seen growth from some role players. Jaylen Mallard seems to be hitting her stride, in the last two games she recorded a double-double and set a new career-high at UNT with 16 points against Old Dominion. Emma Villas-Gomis set a new career-high in 3-pointers made with two in the ODU game. Aly Gamez registered double figures over the weekend, extending her impressive run of 10-plus points in the last eight of 12 contests.
Southern Miss comes to Denton winning three out of its last four. They bolster a .500 record in C-USA play with two victories against LA Tech. USM has a balanced scoring attack with five student-athletes averaging at least seven points a contest. Most notably, Domonique Davis leads the team in points per game (15.1), 3-point shooting percentage (.429), and minutes per contest (32.2).
North Texas will finish its homestand against LA Tech on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (CT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
