Women’s Tennis Heads to Dallas to Compete in SMU Blue and Red Challenge

DALLAS (Oct. 13, 2022) – The fall schedule for the North Texas women's tennis team continues this weekend as they travel to Dallas to compete in the SMU Blue and Red Challenge.
The tournament, which runs Friday-Sunday, will feature two rounds of doubles and one round of singles on Friday, followed by one round of singles and the doubles championship on Saturday and the singles championship on Sunday.
"This tournament gives us a great opportunity for us to work on the mental game we have been focusing on in practice," head coach Sujay Lama said. "We get to also try out some new doubles combinations which is always very exciting. The overall focus is growth and improvement."
In total, there will be six flights of singles play and three flights of doubles in the tournament.
The Mean Green will send Jasmine Adams, Gloria Alogo Piqueras, Olivia Halvorsen, Olivia Malm, Matilde Morais and Kexuan Zhou to the competition as they look to contend for individual titles.
The UNT doubles teams will consist of Adams teaming up with Malm, Alogo Piqueras playing with Zhou and Halvorsen and Morais joining together for the final grouping.
Following the weekend, UNT will have the W25 Fort Worth Invitational Monday through Sunday where the team will all compete as individuals looking for a title.
