
Women’s Basketball Set to take on Oklahoma State Saturday

Mean Green looking to knock off the Cowgirls for the first time since 1989
STILLWATER, Okla. (Dec. 2, 2022) - After dropping Tuesday's road contest at UT-Arlington, North Texas returns to action Saturday for the second game of their seven-game road trip as they take on Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.
It is the 15th all-time meeting between UNT and OSU. The Cowgirls have won 13 of the first 14 contests between the two schools including an 82-68 victory over UNT on Dec. 22, 2020 the last time they played.
UNT will be looking for its third win of the young season as they come into the matchup having lost three of their last four games.
OSU heads into the contest at 6-2 overall with their lone losses coming against Purdue and Kent State.

Catching Up with the Cowgirls
- Oklahoma State heads into the matchup at 6-2 overall, with wins over Florida State and Missouri State among others on their resume.
- The Cowgirls are led by first-year head coach Jacie Hoyt, who comes to OSU after a successful five-year stint at Kansas City.
- OSU is led offensively by redshirt fifth-year Naomie Alnatas who is averaging 15.6 points per game this season. Alnatas has scored in double figures in five of the last six games on the year.
- Both Claire Chastain and Lexy Keys are scoring over 10.0 points per game as well with Chastain averaging 12.5 points and Keys chipping in 11.5.
- Saturday's contest will be a test of the Mean Green 3-point defense as the Cowgirls come into the matchup ranked 16th in the country averaging 9.2 made 3-pointers per game.
- Senior Quincy Noble leads UNT offensively with 17.7 points per game this season, a figure that ranks third in C-USA. Noble has scored in double figures in each of the last five games for North Texas.
- Junior Tommisha Lampkin comes into the matchup after posting a double-double in back-to-back games against Montana St. and UT Arlington. Lampkin has three double-doubles this season, good for first in C-USA and tied for 30th in the country. Through six games, Lampkin averages 10.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
- UNT has been one of the top teams in the country at defending the 3-point line thus far this season. Through six games, the Mean Green are holding opponents to just 19.1 percent from beyond the arc, a mark that ranks fourth in all of Division I.
- For the second straight year, Noble earned a spot on the Preseason All-Conference team. One year after being named the Co-Preseason Player of the Year in 2020-21, Noble again found herself being honored by C-USA after being selected as a Second Team All C-USA honoree a season ago.
- Lampkin registered her second consecutive double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but UNT was unable to overcome an early deficit against UT Arlington, falling 76-58.
- Lampkin now has three double-doubles this season and pulled down four offensive rebounds in the contest as UNT fell to 2-4 overall this season.
- Senior Quincy Noble and freshman Ereauna Hardaway both scored in double figures as well for UNT as Noble finished with 13 points and Hardaway set a new career-high with 12.
- UTA jumped ahead early, starting the game on a 13-3 run and didn't look back from there as they never trailed in the contest.
