Comeback Bid at LA Tech Falls Short

RUSTON, La. – North Texas women's basketball (14-11, 8-7) second half comeback fell short at LA Tech (17-10, 9-7), 62-54, on Saturday night. The Mean Green trailed by as many as 14 in the first half.
The loss at Thomas Assembly Center snapped the league's longest active win streak. The Lady Techsters kept UNT at arm's length to complete the regular season sweep.
Aly Gamez and Jazion Jackson tied for a team-best 11 points. Madison Townley was all over the place tonight with six points, nine boards, three steals, and two assists.
UNT will finish up the regular season with a two game homestand against UTSA (Mar. 3) and UTEP (Mar. 5) inside the Super Pit.

"We just didn't hit our shots tonight. They got to the line more than we did but I thought we did a good job of limiting them in the paint in the second half. Offensively, I thought we got good looks, but it was just one of those nights."
