First Time In The NIT
This is North Texas' first ever bid to the National Invitation Tournament.
Making It A Habit
This is the second consecutive year the Mean Green have made a NCAA postseason. UNT made the 2021 NCAA Tournament. It's the first time in program history they've made consecutive NCAA postseasons. It's UNT's third NCAA postseason appearance under fifth-year head coach Grant McCasland (2018 CBI, 2021 NCAA Tourney, 2022 NIT).
Postseason Mean Green
The North Texas men and women's basketball teams both made national postseason tournaments this year. It's first time in school history both programs made national postseasons in the same year. The UNT women's basketball team (17-13, 10-7) made the WNIT. UNT and Middle Tennessee were the only C-USA schools to make postseasons in both men and women's basketball this year.
25 Wins
North Texas won its 25th game of the year on Tuesday. The 25 wins is a single season program record surpassing the 24-win total from the 2009-10 season (24-9).
