Track & Field Hosts North Texas Classic on Saturday

DENTON, Texas – North Texas track & field is set to host its second and final home meet of the season, honoring the Mean Green seniors Saturday at the Soccer and Track & Field Stadium.

UNT will be competing against Abilene Christian, Oklahoma Baptist, Oral Roberts, South Plains College, Tarleton State and UTA. The Mean Green will be represented by 23 men's athletes and 24 women's athletes at its home meet.

Heading into the weekend, the North Texas men's team is ranked 20^th in the South Central Region, while the women's team is 30^th.

Caleb Bouchard, Clayton Brewer, Antonio DeLaCruz, Alec Esposito, Skyler Guillot, Zion Hill, Brock Hottel, Davonye Jones, Kendal Maples, Kayla McDonald, Logan Mitchell, Matthew Morgan, Ziphion Reevey, Jaden Reid, Sydney Rogers, Sydney Salinas, Chris Samaniego, Jaleisa Shaffer, Audrey Springer and Madelyn Taylor will be the seniors recognized.

The meet will be streamed live on YouTube, and live results will be provided by NTX Timing. Morning action will begin at 9 a.m. CT with the men's 5,000 meters. Field events will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT with the men's javelin and women's shot put. The national anthem, followed by the beginning of the full slate of track events, will be at 12:55 p.m. CT. The senior recognition will take place at 5 p.m. CT.

Following the North Texas Classic, UNT will hit the road for the remainder of the season, starting with the Mt. Sac Relays April 13-16 in Torrance, Calif.
