Ashley Peters Named CUSA Pitcher of The Week

DALLAS, TX – Junior Ashley Peters has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Peters earns the honor for the second time this year after pitching in all three games this weekend against Marshall.
Through three games against the Thundering Herd, she finished with 11.0 IP, 1 R, 10 K, 2 BB and a 0.64 ERA.
In the first game of the weekend, she pitched 6.0 innings and held Marshall scoreless and allowed only three hits. Peters struck out six batters in that game and also didn't allow a single walk in the 1-0 series-opening victory.
Peters (17-6) has pitched five complete games on the season and has a 2.52 ERA with 141 strikeouts in 147.0 innings pitched.
UNT will host the 2022 Conference USA Softball Championship May 11-14 in Denton at Lovelace Stadium. The Mean Green are the No. 2 seed and will play their first game in the quarterfinals on Thursday May 12 against a to-be-determined opponent.
