KD Davis Named Phil Steele’s Fourth Team All-American

Davis also earned First Team All-CUSA honors in the coaches’ poll.
CLEVELAND – KD Davis was named to Phil Steele's 2022 Preseason All-American Fourth Team; the publication announced this week.
After a stellar 2021 campaign, KD Davis was one of two Conference USA players to be named a Preseason All-American. He totaled 121 tackles, 13.0 TFLs and 5.5 sacks with two fumble recoveries. He started all 13 games at middle linebacker and earned First Team All-CUSA honors in the coaches' poll.
Ten members of the team were also named to the Preseason All-Conference USA teams. Oscar Adaway, John Davis, KD Davis, and Manase Mose received first team honors. John Davis totaled 18 tackles with an interception and four pass breakups in 10 appearances, nine of which were starts. Mose earned second team All-CUSA honors from the coaches in 2021. Adaway missed last season due to injury.
Defensive tackle Roderick Brown was named to the second team. Offensive tackle Cole Brown and linebacker Larry Nixon were both recognized on the third team. Running back Isaiah Johnson, offensive guard Gabe Blair and wide receiver/punt return specialist Roderic Burns garnered fourth team accolades.
The Mean Green open the 2022 season on Aug. 27 in El Paso against UTEP at 8 p.m. (CT) on Stadium.
